Hi Bernice! We would store them in a zip top bag somewhere cool and dark – they can last a long time this way.

These cookies look and sound wonderful. I will be making them for St. Patrick’s day and have ordered the vanilla beans recommended. What is the best way to store the vanilla beans once the package is opened? I do not have a vacuum sealer. Will they keep in a zip loc bag? Thank you

I made them the other day, even though my sister and I had finished all the Christmas cookie baking… but the sugar cookies we already had were made with royal icing and I was just craving some good old buttercream. I made them as Christmas trees instead of shamrocks, but still used the green/white 2-tone frosting and gold sprinkles. Not only do they look great, they taste even better. The vanilla bean flavor in the cookies and buttercream is just fantastic. Had fun decorating them, too. Fabulous recipe.

Hi Karlee, we’d recommend using our vanilla buttercream frosting (which makes enough for a thin layer on a 9×13-inch cake) and you can swap some of the vanilla extract for scraped vanilla bean seeds. Hope you love it!

I’m thinking about using the vanilla bean frosting recipe to frost a 9×13 sheet cake. Does this recipe make enough to do that or should I double it? Thanks! 🙂

Hi Tonee, yes, you can let the dough chill in the refrigerator overnight. Enjoy!
