I always make one of Sally’s chocolate-based cakes for my birthday, and they NEVER disappoint. But this flavor combination caught my eye this year, so I decided to try it. I followed the notes and made the 13×9 sheet cake. It turned out to be one of the best cakes I’ve ever made. Every version of Sally’s white cake that I’ve made has been just absolutely delicious, but this one might top them all. Just a very unique flavor and perfect texture. I really had to practice restraint to stop at one piece! Mine was baked at 28 minutes, and I used the cupcake frosting ratios in this recipe, which yielded a perfect amount for the top of the cake.

Hi Maureen! Bailey’s is sweeter and creamy, Kahlua is a rum-based coffee liqueur, so the two are quite different. You may be able to replace the coffee in the cake and frosting with Kahlua, but you’re going to want cream in the frosting for sure. Sorry we can’t help more but let us know if you try anything!
